In an effort to motivate our young students of grades 4 & 5 and enhance their vocabulary and pronunciation skills, an Inter-Club English Spellathon Competition was recently organized at Presidium, Palam Vihar. Providing the Presidians an opportunity to indulge and involve themselves in enhancing their lexical and communication abilities, the competition proved to be one of the finest integration of imagination, education, technology and inclusiveness. Boosting the confidence and self-esteem of our students, this great learning with fun activity also prepared them as effective communicators of the future.

STORYTELLING COMPETITION: LITTLE PRESIDIANS NARRATE CONFIDENTLY

Competitions are the best way to build confidence in children!
Keeping this in mind, a Storytelling Competition was recently conducted for students of grades nursery and prep at Presidium, Palam Vihar. The little Presidians came beautifully dressed up according to their story and proactively participated in this competition. Presenting their stories with suitable props, body language and narrative skills, the children enthralled the audience. They were also excited to listen the stories of their friends as every story was recited with a strong message or moral. The competition went well and the best storytellers were chosen at the end of the event!

Children are loved by one and all; they win our hearts with their innocent smiles!
To celebrate 'childhood' and pay a loving tribute to the India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Children's Day was joyfully celebrated in the premises of Presidium, Palam Vihar. It was a fun-filled day for the students as the teachers organized various enjoyable activities. Conducting a special assembly featuring informative play enactment, the Children's Day gala filled the Presidians with charm and delight.

PRESIDIANS LEARN THE AUTHENTIC ART OF BLOCK PRINTING

To enhance the artistic and creative skills of Presidians, a session on block-printing was recently organised, where in students were taught about the two different techniques of block printing,namely, direct printing and resist printing. The workshop gave a detailed outlook of the techniques briefing the students about how craftsmen use wodden and metal blocks to create extra-ordinarly beautiful designs. Students of grade 3 participated with full interest and enhanced their creative knowledge on this intricate form of dying and colouring a fabric.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji's great life has been a big inspiring story for many across the world. To remember this divine founder of Sikhism, a special assembly on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti or Gurpurab was recently organized at Presidium, Palam Vihar. Sharing the information regarding the festivities in the Sikh religion that revolve around the anniversaries of the 10 Sikh Gurus, the assembly served as a learning experience for the students of grades 4 to 7. A blissful environment was created and the audience relished the spirit of devotion and soulfulness.

TRIP TO JIM CORBETT: PRESIDIANS UNRAVEL THE LAND OF ADVENTURES

What is life but one great adventure!
With the same passion to quench their thirst for adventure, the students of Presidium Palam Vihar recently went to a trip to Jim Corbett. The young Presidians performed various adventurous activities like Jeep Safari, Body Surfing, Building Games, Lantern Walk and Sunrise Tracking. They also enjoyed to the core of their hearts with their classmates and teachers at a specially arranged DJ night. Witnessing the voluminous natural beauty and rich flora and fauna of this forested wildlife sanctuary in northern India’s Uttarakhand State, the Presidians relished the journey of a lifetime.

BEST OUT OF WASTE CONTEST: PRESIDIANS SPREAD MAGIC OF CREATIVITY

Creativity is an art to explore our ideas to extraordinary way from the ordinary work!
Preparation of eco-friendly products out of waste material forms an important part of Eco Club. To encourage our students to create something useful out of waste things, a concept which has global significance, a 'best out of waste' competition was recently organized for students of grades 1 to 3 at Presidium, Palam Vihar. Inviting creative art and craft ideas like a tea pot and a cup, slippers from straws, hat, paper vase, festival decorations, wall hangings, greeting cards, toys and paper jewellery, the fun-filled contest ignited their artistic potential. An initiative to generate the habit of using old things to create beautiful and some amazing crafts amongst children, the competition was a learning experience for all.

PRESIDIANS GIVE THE MESSAGE OF A CLEAN, PEACEFUL & BRIGHT DIWALI

To celebrate Diwali, the joyous festival of lights, the students of Presidium Palam Vihar recently came together and conducted a special assembly. They adorned the corridors and classrooms with a unique festive look featuring diyas and rangoli. The song 'Diwali aayi' brought out the essence of the celebration of life and goodness. Students talked about the significance of the festival - how good always conquered the evil and also about how and why Diwali is celebrated across India. They presented a small skit on Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya. Besides sensitizing the students to the ill effects of crackers, the assembly concluded with the message of a clean, peaceful and bright Diwali.

BIRTHDAY OF GURU RAM DAS CREATES A BLISSFUL SETTING AT PRESIDIUM

Guru Ram Das, the 'Lord of Miracles', is the fourth of the ten gurus of Sikhs. Each year, eleven days before his birthday, the Sikh people gather together and meditate in the early hours of the day. To celebrate the birthday of this enlightening spiritual guide, our little Presidians distributed 'prasad' among the community. They created a blissful Gurudwara like pious environment to enroll everyone with the teachings of the Guru.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON MORAL VALUES: PRESIDIANS OBSERVE GOOD MORALS

Children are great imitators, so give them something good to imitate!
The morning sets the day and the assembly paves the way for our students to rejuvenate their spirits, remain rooted to the moral values and unleash their vitality. This is precisely what our young grade 6 students tried to showcase to their peers in a special assembly on 'moral values' at Presidium, Palam Vihar. The energetic Presidians presented a thought, speech and skit on good moral values followed by a pledge, wherein their dialogue delivery was immensely clear and fluent. The audience was also very keen to share what they had learnt and promised to observe good manners and morals so that others would notice and do the same.
