Plastic Bag Free Day is a unique opportunity to spread the word, that a plastic bag free world is possible and that sound environmental alternatives to single use plastic bags are available. Presidians participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. They explained all the hazards of using plastic and the ways by which they can be substituted, may it be jute or paper bags, or steel and glass bottles, containers etc. They created a joyful environment by singing a melodious rhyme - “Don’t use polybags” . The aim was to raise awareness about the negative impacts of plastic bags on the environment and human health and accordingly find practical ways to reduce and avoid the use of plastic bags.
