14th April celebrates the birthday of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, an Indian politician, a social rights activist and an economist, who played an important role in the formation of the India's constitution. As a proponent for widespread human rights in India, Ambedkar sought to eliminate India's caste system and eventually became the first law minister of India. Making the young learners aware about the life of this renowned dignitary, the assembly was a learning experience for them.

The campus of Presidium Palam Vihar was on high with the chirping of happy students as the school gates opened for the new academic session. Thrilled, excited and raring to go, the students happily marched to the school and organized a special assembly with a wave of enthusiasm. Friends hugged each other and greeted their teachers with sunny smiles and warm wishes. Students were introduced with their new teaching faculty. The lively start of the day blew energy into the students and teachers. The assembly was a celebration of school and education!

take measures to raise awareness about people with autism throughout the world.
Every year, autism organizations around the world celebrate the day with unique
fundraising and awareness events and ‘Autism Speaks’ celebrates its
international 'Light It Up Blue' campaign. Just like the campaign, we at
Presidium also celebrated World Autism Day, wherein the Presidians took a stand
for equality and embraced the uniqueness of every human being. They also
pledged to spread awareness about the concept of autism and provide as much

DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILLS THROUGH ROLE-PLAY TECHNIQUE

With the idea to enhance students’ confidence and perception of communication science and implementing new vocabulary in their everyday communications, recently a role-playing program was conducted in Presidium, Palam Vihar. The activity was based on enactment of a story ‘Maisy goes on a sleepover’ in which students performed their favorite roles. The activity proved to be a remarkable creative and innovative approach to practice English language and enhance their oratory skills. They incorporated their own ideas which culminated in a wonderful experience for all.

To prepare our Presidians of Dwarka 22 to step into the spotlight, an Inter-Class Role Play Competition was recently organized. The students learnt how to be flexible, all thanks to their regular performances and rehearsals. Improving tremendously on their problem solving skills, they found ways to handle mistakes in front of audience and to manage their time effectively. Making the best of the opportunity to showcase their artistic side, the leaders of tomorrow delivered breathtaking performances.

LEARNING ROSE MAKING CRAFT BY TURNING IMAGINATION INTO REALITY

With the idea of using art and craft as an alternative and noteworthy classroom teaching tool, ‘Rose Making' activity was conducted recently in Presidium, Palam Vihar, in which students participated zealously. The activity was a part of educating them about various features of plants and its parts. Students wholeheartedly indulged in preparing roses with clay and other craft material and turning imagination into reality. It was a perfect display of their elated creative energies. With the right approach and exposure, they got acquainted aptly with the concept which generated a high level of interest and attentiveness.

HANDKERCHIEF SNATCH ACTIVITY FORTIFIES FINE MOTOR SKILLS & FOCUS

To boost our grade prep students’ concentration, focus and active listening skills, a Handkerchief Snatch activity was recently organized at Presidium, Palam Vihar. The little Presidians were supposed to listen to the numbers and take quick action by targeting the handkerchief with utmost concentration and try to pick it first, while playing against their opponent. Proving immensely beneficial in enhancing fine and visual motor skills of the tiny tots by indulging them in discovering dodging through different pathways, levels and speeds with others, the activity was an enjoyable experience for them.

PICTURE READING: PRIMING PUPILS WITH SUPERIOR LANGUAGE SKILLS

In order to enhance observation skills, vocabulary and language development, students of grade nursery and prep recently participated in a picture reading competition. In this competition, students were shown pictures on the smart board for which they shared their vivid and beautiful experiences. Audiences and teachers were surprised to hear the amazing sentences framed by the children. Altogether, the program was immensely helpful to enhance the imagination and creativity of the enthusiastic children.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE HOLI FESTIVAL WITH TRUE EXPLOSION OF COLOURS

With the purpose of introducing students to the festival of Holi as the triumph of good over evil, carnival of colours, a community festival and tradition of ancient spring rites, students of Presidium, Palam Vihar recently conducted a special assembly on this occasion recently. The festival was celebrated in an amalgam of entertainment and information. Energy packed dance performances by the students showed the rich heritage of this festival. Insights were shared to focus that it is important to play the festival safely. Students learned to made herbal colours from homemade products. Students had a wonderful time by celebrating the festival in a traditional manner as well of throwing coloured herbal powder safely to each other.
